First Vacation

Our camera is back! It took us a while to get this post done but that is what happens when you leave your camera in Phoenix. We spent Valentine's weekend in Phoenix with a lot of family. Amelia made her parents very proud with how great she did on the plane. Here are some highlights of our trip:

Say Cheese! Amelia was all smiles at O'Hare waiting for her first plane ride.

Amelia might not look real happy but she told us that she loved traveling!

Mom's cousin Caitlin came up from Tucson to spend the weekend with us.

Amelia and Papa watching KU basketball.

Amelia got lots of kisses on her first Valentine's Day!

Amelia enjoyed her first hike through the Sonoran Desert, okay she slept the entire time....

Mom loves having drinks at the Phoenician Resort and Amelia was a good sport and let us enjoy our drinks and the view.

Papa had Amelia "help" him in the kitchen. We don't think Papa will be babysitting by himself anytime soon.

Playing with daddy outside.

Oh how we all miss the sunshine now that we are back in Chicago!

Month Two

Amelia had a great second month. It has been a cold, snowy winter even by Chicago standards so Amelia hasn't been able to get out and about as much as she would like. Some of her favorite activities this past month have been:

Dad and Amelia stay entertained sticking their tongues out at each other. We are so proud of our daughter's accomplishments!

We hope that this doesn't become a problem later in life but Amelia appears to prefer being sans-clothing. She especially loves "naked time" after her bath.

Although it is cold we do get out as often as possible. Amelia loves being out and about and thinks she looks pretty good in her polar bear outfit.

and finally Amelia's favorite activity of January was smiling! Stay tuned as next week Amelia is going on her first vacation to sunny Phoenix....

Happy New Year!!!

Amelia has decided that this whole holiday thing is a pretty good gig. Her first holidays were full of love. Some of the highlights:

She got to meet Grandma and Grandpa Lang who came back to Illinois from California. They couldn't pass up Christmas with their girls Georgia and Amelia. Amelia thinks that Grandpa Lang is perfect for napping on!

Grandma Ann and Auntie M came in from Kansas. Amelia already misses having so many people around to hold her.
Santa came to see her for the first time. On the way home she asked why Santa sounded so much like Uncle Tomme.
Playing with her cousin Georgia is always fun!

While all the fun is over and the company gone Amelia has decided that having mom and dad to dote over her isn't so bad.....

Busy Week

Grandma Ann was here from Kansas this week and made sure I was spoiled all week long. In between eating, sleeping and you know what we stayed very busy:

My mom took a ridiculous amount of pictures of me.

I went on my first shopping trip to Southport which included a ride on Chicago's L.

We went out for a pizza dinner. The pizza and wine were delicious and the booth very comfortable.
And I watched my first KU basketball game with dad. He sure makes a ruckus when he watches sports....

Amelia's Homecoming

So far things have gone really well at home. Papa (Grandpa Evans also doesn't want to be called Grand-anything so we are trying out some other names) and Merrill were here through Sunday for Thanksgiving. They spent lots of time in the kitchen and left us with great leftovers. Amelia loved having them to hangout with and misses them lots. She is also having fun meeting all her friends in Chicago and her cousin Georgia! Her first bath was very eventful with Amelia showing off her bodily function skills.

Amelia Arrives

After a very eventful drive down Lake Shore Drive, Amelia Merrill Lang quickly arrived at 10:48am on Wednesday, November 26th. She weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and 19 inches long. We were suprised by her dark hair and eyes. She has her daddy's hands and feet. Grandma Ann (who doesn't want to be called grandma which we are working on) brought us celebratory champage.

Ready for Baby

we were all ready for Baby Lang and the wait game started
